Read the warnings below and decide whether you want to root your device or not.
– Before rooting your phone backup entire data otherwise you may lose it if the device gets bricked. Root the phone at your own risk and we can’t be held responsible.
– Use Go Backup Pro or Super Backup to backup all the android apps, contact, sms and all data stored on your phone.
– The CF-Auto-Root files compatible only with the Nexus 7. Applying these on any incorrect variant will brick the device. Verify the model number of the Nexus 7 by navigating to Settings -> About Phone.
Download Required Files:
– Android SDK
– CF-Auto-Root for Nexus 7 (Wi-Fi) or CF-Auto-Root for Nexus 7 (3G)
Pre-Requisites:
– The Nexus 7 bootloader should be unlocked.
– Enable USB Debugging Mode on the device. Go to Settings -> About Phone. Tap on Build Number several times till the message shows “You are now a Developer”. Exit from “About Phone” and find the “Developer Options” settings. Enable USB debugging.
– Enable USB Debugging Mode on the device.
– Check your device model Settings -> About phone -> Model number.
– Ensure the battery of the phone is charged more than 80 percent.
– Make a backup of all your important data before following the guide.
Steps to Root Nexus 7 with Android 4.3 Kitkat Firmware and Install CWM/TWRP Recovery:
Step 1: Install the Android SDK. The package includes the necessary drivers for connecting your tablet to the computer, which is mandatory for the rooting process.
Step 2: Extract the CF-Auto-Root file.
Step 3: Start your phone in fastboot mode by pressing and holding “Volume Up”+”Volume Down”+”Power” buttons together.
Step 4: Connect the Nexus 7 to the computer using USB cable, then wait until Windows finished installing the drivers.
Step 5: Navigate to the folder where you extracted the CF-Auto-Root files, then run the following command:

Step 6: Follow the on-screen instructions. Once the rooting procedure completes, the phone will boot into normal mode. You can now unplug the USB cable to disconnect your device from computer.
Samsung Nexus 7 running on Android 4.3 Kitkat is now rooted successfully. You can now install any app that requires root permission.
Note: If SuperSU does not appear after Step-6, then you can install it manually from the Google Play Store.
